Principal, Mr. Ned Schoenwetter

Dear Families,

I would like to extend a warm hello to you! As the Principal of Ellwood Elementary School, I look forward this year to building rewarding relationships with each of your children, and you, as we learn and grow through the year. I hope this letter serves to clarify some questions you may have about your principal.

I have been in education for over 20 years.  After teaching fourth and fifth grades in both suburban Chicago and Goleta, I served as the Coordinator of Instructional Media and Technology for the Goleta Union School District before taking over as the Mountain View School principal in 2009.  I have a Bachelor’s in Economics and History from St. Olaf College and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas, both in Minnesota.  My wife Alexandra and I have two sons who attend school in the Goleta Union School District, so I have appreciation of the Goleta schools as both an educator and a parent.

I am looking forward to this school year with each of you and your children. We have many adventures in store!

Ned Schoenwetter
